If you live in New Jersey, there are so many hidden gem restaurants/bars to try out.
My new favorite is The Belleville Whiskey Priest!
I have been meaning to try but was packed during my first attempt at going.
I finally went after work for a late lunch date and it was such a nice place for safe outdoor dining during the pandemic.
It’s a great way to enjoy the weather and have a taste of normalcy. The Whiskey Priest, aside from having a catchy name, is a great place to have brunch, lunch, or dinner. Their menu has so many tasty options it was hard to decide what I wanted.
But, if you’re like me and like to look at the menu before you go out, I decided on the Carne Asada Fries —they were BOMB!
I went again with my best friend and since the weather has gotten colder, it was chilly but still a good time.
I had the chicken Trio of Tacos that came with salsa verde.
My best friend had the chicken Volcano Nachos - my favorite starter to have had so far!
I had their red wine sangria which comes in a cute pouch, it felt like drinking out of an adult Capri-sun. We split their Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae and it was delicious!
The distance from other tables was okay but I felt comfortable enough to eat with my mask off which still feels weird to have off when out in public.
Overall, The Whiskey Priest has tasty appetizers, great drinks, a fun atmosphere and there's nothing better than a place with friendly servers that make the dining experience even more enjoyable. Their heat lamps at night help bring the warmth to outdoor dining during COVID as the cold weather comes in.
If you have the chance to go, your taste buds will thank you later!
