Spring is in the air! A season of rebirth, new beginnings, and a chance for growth.
This is my favorite season being an April baby and loving the "sweata weatha".
I know at first the rainy days can be a bit of a vibe killer and make us want to nap and stay cuddled up watching tv.
Living in NJ/NY, we all know how the seasonal weather can change within the hours of the day from winter in the morning, spring in the afternoon, and back to winter after sunset. It's so inconsistent!
Nevertheless, let us all remember that after the rain, flowers will start to bloom, the birds will start to chirp and the skies will be clear and blue.
This is the time to prepare new goals, cleanse ourselves from any negative energy and start out this season with a fresh clean space and peace of mind.
Here are 3 essential foundations on how to make the most out of this season and bounce back better than ever!
Declutter- Spring cleaning is more than just letting go of unnecessary weight or mess in your life. It can help make your space feel more open and pristine.
Go through your closet and donate clothes you know you NEVER wear, organize your makeup and clean your brushes/sponges, just make your space at home ready for this season.
Even cleaning out the junk drawer we all know we have can be a productive day!
It may not seem like it at first, but reorganizing your space can create positive energy around you and even motivate you to continue staying organized if that’s something you struggle with. Lighting a candle after cleaning around the house is always a reward!
Set Some Goals- This time is all about getting things DONE and achieve your goals. I know we all started the years with some resolutions, this is the time to make them come to life.
Whether it's getting that new laptop, working out, or trying to get rid of a bad habit and create a healthy one - make a plan and make it happen!
With the snow finally being gone and the sun setting later, I plan on getting back to my fitness/health goal. Even if I don’t go to the gym or a run, I always feel more motivated to workout at home if I have a clean space to do so and listen to my go-to workout playlists.
Creating a calendar for yourself to set realistic goals can also help you visualize your day and get your mind ready for what you have in store to make your goals come to fruition. If you start a routine now, after 2 weeks, you’ll have that locked and ready to achieve any of your personal goals.
Take Care of Yourself- With the sun being out more, it’s important to take care of your skin and get back into your skincare routine if you haven’t already. Just waking up and doing your skincare routine every day can have a positive effect on your day and energy.
Give yourself time during the day to take care of yourself and get some air on a walk or jog around the block.
With work and school, I make sure to give myself a self-care hour or two to recharge whether it’s taking a long bubble bath, an all-out skincare routine, or doing something I love like taking a dance class.
Take a nap, listen to music or do anything that keeps you calm and relaxed is also great for your mental health. We can get so caught up in work and our daily responsibilities that we build stress or anxiety. Remember to put yourself first and relax!
However you choose to recharge yourself this spring season, remember to make time for yourself, that it’s okay to give yourself that time to love yourself and relax. Embrace this season of rebirth and let go of all the weight and negativity that is holding you back from all the greatness that you can achieve. It's springtime, get started on a fresh start!
